Privacy Policy

Last updated:

EverydayPB is run by Darren. This policy explains what data I collect when you visit this site, why I collect it, and what rights you have over it. I've tried to write this in plain English rather than legalese, because this is your data and you deserve to understand what happens to it.

If you have any questions, you can reach me at hello@everydaypb.com.

Who is responsible for your data?

The data controller for EverydayPB is Darren, the founder of this site. If you're exercising a right under UK GDPR (more on that below), I'm the person responsible for responding.

Contact: hello@everydaypb.com

Analytics: what I track (and what I don't)

I use Plausible Analytics to understand how the site is performing. Plausible is a privacy-first analytics tool. It does not use cookies. It does not store your IP address. It does not collect any personal data. What I see is aggregated information: how many people visited, which pages are popular, what country traffic comes from (at a country level, not more specific).

Because Plausible is genuinely cookie-free and collects no personal data, it falls outside the scope of UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). No consent is required, and no data about you as an individual is stored.

Plausible is operated by Plausible Analytics OÜ and you can read their privacy policy at plausible.io/privacy.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the EverydayPB newsletter, I collect your email address. That's it. No name required unless you choose to provide one.

How sign-up works

I use a double opt-in process. When you subscribe, you'll receive a confirmation email. Your subscription is only activated when you click the link in that email. This protects you from being added without your knowledge.

What I use your email for

  • Sending the EverydayPB newsletter (training tips, content updates, race insights)
  • Occasional announcements about significant site changes

I will never sell your email address or use it for anything else.

How to unsubscribe

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're removed immediately. You can also email me at hello@everydaypb.com and I'll remove you manually.

Who processes your email?

Your email address is stored and processed by my email service provider. I've chosen a provider that complies with UK GDPR and processes data in line with applicable data protection law. I will update this section with the provider name once the newsletter service is confirmed.

Legal basis

The legal basis for processing your email is consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing.

How long I keep your data

Your email address is retained until you unsubscribe. At that point, it is deleted from my mailing list within 30 days.

Hosting

EverydayPB is hosted on Railway. When you visit the site, your request passes through Railway's infrastructure. Railway may retain server logs (including IP addresses) for security purposes, as is standard practice for web hosting. These logs are controlled by Railway, not by me. You can read Railway's privacy policy at railway.app/legal/privacy.

Affiliate links and third-party sites

Some links on EverydayPB are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I've actually used and believe in.

When you click an affiliate link and visit the retailer's website, that site has its own privacy policy and cookie practices. I have no control over what they collect. Beyond standard browser behaviour (such as referral headers), there are no tracking cookies added by affiliate links on this site.

You can read more about this in the Affiliate Disclosure.

Cookies

EverydayPB does not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. For full details on how cookies are used (or not used), see the Cookie Policy.

Children

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to this site, please contact me and I will delete it promptly.

Your rights under UK GDPR

If I hold personal data about you (such as your email address from newsletter sign-up), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access. You can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
  • Right to rectification. If any data I hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you can ask me to correct it.
  • Right to erasure. You can ask me to delete your personal data. For newsletter subscribers, this means unsubscribing and requesting deletion.
  • Right to data portability. You can ask for your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Right to object. You can object to me processing your data where the legal basis is legitimate interests. For newsletter processing (which is based on consent), simply withdrawing consent achieves the same result.
  • Right to restrict processing. You can ask me to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, email me at hello@everydaypb.com. I will respond within one calendar month, as required by UK GDPR.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the supervisory authority for data protection in the UK.

ICO website: ico.org.uk
ICO helpline: 0303 123 1113

I would always prefer you contact me directly first so I have the opportunity to put things right.

Changes to this policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect when it was last changed. If I make significant changes, I'll mention it in the newsletter.
