Cookie Policy

Short version
EverydayPB does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You will not see a cookie consent banner, because there is nothing that requires your consent. The only cookies that may be set are technical session cookies needed to run the site's admin system.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device when you visit. They can be used for lots of different things: keeping you logged in, remembering your preferences, tracking your browsing behaviour, or serving targeted advertising.
Not all cookies are created equal. Some are essential to make a website function. Others exist purely to build a profile of you for advertising purposes. EverydayPB uses the former and none of the latter.
Analytics
EverydayPB uses Plausible Analytics to understand how the site is performing. Plausible is a privacy-first analytics tool that works without cookies. It does not set any cookie on your device. It does not store your IP address. It does not track you across websites.
Because Plausible requires no cookies and collects no personal data, it does not fall under the cookie consent requirements of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). There is nothing to consent to, and nothing that requires a banner.
Essential cookies
EverydayPB runs on a content management system (Payload CMS). The CMS admin interface, which is only ever accessed by the site administrator (not by you as a reader), uses a session cookie to keep the admin logged in.
This cookie is set only when the admin area is accessed. If you are visiting EverydayPB as a regular reader, this cookie is not set on your device.
Newsletter and forms
The newsletter sign-up form does not set any cookies. Submitting your email address stores it with our email service provider as described in the Privacy Policy, but no cookie is placed on your device as part of that process.
Affiliate links
Some links on EverydayPB are affiliate links that lead to external retailers. When you click through to those sites, those retailers may set their own cookies under their own cookie policies. This is standard browser behaviour and is outside my control.
I do not add any tracking cookies of my own to affiliate links. Beyond the standard referral information your browser sends when navigating between websites, nothing extra is tracked.
Why there is no cookie banner
Cookie consent banners are required under PECR when a website sets non-essential cookies (for example, analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or social media trackers). Because EverydayPB does not set any of these, no banner is legally required and none is shown.
If this changes (for example, if advertising or a comments system is introduced), this policy will be updated and a consent mechanism will be added.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are links to instructions for the most common browsers:
Changes to this policy
If anything changes about how EverydayPB uses cookies (for example, adding a comments feature, advertising, or a different analytics tool), this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change.
