Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated:
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something through them, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I've actually used and believe in.
How affiliate links work
EverydayPB uses affiliate links on some articles and pages, particularly gear reviews and product recommendations. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, I receive a small percentage of the sale from the retailer.
This does not change the price you pay. The retailer pays the commission from their margin. You pay exactly the same whether you use my link or type the retailer's address directly.
My editorial standards
I only recommend products I have personally used and found genuinely useful. If I review something and it has significant drawbacks, I say so, regardless of any affiliate relationship. Commission-earning potential has no influence on whether I recommend a product or how positively I review it.
If I think a product is overpriced, poorly made, or simply not worth it, I will tell you that. Honest reviews serve you better than glowing ones, and they serve the site better in the long run.
How affiliate links are labelled
Pages and articles containing affiliate links include a disclosure notice, either at the top of the page or near the relevant content. This makes it clear which links may earn commission before you read on.
The disclosure typically reads: "This page contains affiliate links. If you purchase through them, I may earn a small commission at no cost to you."
Privacy and tracking
I do not add tracking cookies to affiliate links. When you click through to a retailer, that retailer may set their own cookies under their own privacy and cookie policies. This is standard practice for affiliate programmes and is outside my control.
For full details on how data is handled on this site, see the Privacy Policy.
Which affiliate programmes does EverydayPB use?
EverydayPB participates in affiliate programmes with various retailers and brands relevant to running and fitness. These include but may not be limited to:
- Amazon Associates (various countries)
- Specialist running and fitness retailers
- Gear and wearables manufacturers and their retailers
This list may expand as the site grows. The disclosure principle remains the same regardless of the specific programme: if a link earns commission, it is labelled.
Regulatory basis
This disclosure is made in accordance with the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance on online reviews and endorsements, and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) rules on affiliate marketing transparency.
The core principle is simple: you have a right to know when a recommendation might earn me money. I take that seriously.
